House Rewires in Blackpool & the Fylde Coast

Old wiring, fabric-covered cables or a fuse board that trips for no reason? A full or partial rewire brings your home up to current standards and gives you real peace of mind. I do the work myself, keep mess to a minimum and protect your home from start to finish.

Why it matters

Faulty or ageing wiring is one of the most common causes of house fires. A rewire isn't just about more sockets, it's about knowing the cables behind your walls are safe for the next 25+ years.

House rewires in Blackpool

Full rewire or partial

Not every old property needs everything stripping out. Plenty of Blackpool housing stock has had sections done at different times, so the sensible starting point is testing what is there. Sometimes the answer is a partial rewire and a new board rather than the whole house, which is a very different job and a very different price.

What a rewire involves

A full rewire means new cabling throughout, new back boxes, new accessories and a new consumer unit, with circuits arranged for how the house is actually used now rather than how it was used decades ago. That normally means far more sockets, properly rated kitchen circuits, and lighting split so a single fault does not black out a floor.

Living in the house while it happens

Most people do stay in. It is dusty and there is chasing into walls, so it is not a quiet week, but we work room by room where possible and keep power on to part of the house rather than killing it all for the duration. We will be straight with you about which days are the worst ones.

Making good afterwards

Chasing walls means plaster repair. Be clear with any electrician about whether making good is included in the price and to what standard, because this is the single most common source of disappointment on a rewire. We tell you exactly what we will and will not put back before you commit.

Frequently asked

Not usually. I work room by room so you can stay in the house wherever possible.
A typical three-bed home takes around five to eight days depending on access and finishes.
I leave everything tidy and clean up as I go. I don't fill the chases or plaster myself, but I'm happy to recommend a trusted plasterer and decorator to make good afterwards.
There is always some disruption, but I dust-sheet, work cleanly and tidy up at the end of every day.
