What's included
A visible, well-placed CCTV system deters intruders and gives you evidence and peace of mind if something does happen. Done properly, the cabling stays hidden and the cameras cover what actually matters.
CCTV installation in Blackpool, done properly
Where cameras actually need to go
Most poor CCTV installs fail for the same reason: the cameras are pointing at the wrong things. Four cameras covering the middle of a garden tell you nothing useful. One camera covering the point where somebody has to walk to reach your door, at head height rather than roof height, tells you everything. Before anything is fitted we walk the property with you and work out the approach routes, the pinch points and the spots where a face is actually identifiable.
Getting a usable picture at night
Almost every incident worth recording happens in the dark. That is where cheap systems fall down, producing a white blur where a face should be. We specify cameras with proper low light performance and set the exposure so that a security light or a passing headlight does not wash the image out. It is worth checking any quote you get for what the night image actually looks like, not just the resolution on the box.
Recording, storage and getting footage out
A recorder is only useful if you can get the footage off it when you need it. We set up the recorder where it is not the first thing a burglar finds, configure how many days you keep, and make sure you can pull a clip and hand it to the police without needing us to come back out. Remote viewing on your phone is set up and tested before we leave.
If your cameras overlook a shared or public area
For a home, cameras covering only your own property are straightforward. If your cameras capture a pavement, a shared drive or a neighbour's garden, data protection rules come into play, and for a business recording staff or customers there are further obligations around signage and how long you keep footage. We will tell you where you sit and what signage you need, rather than leaving you to find out later.
Homes, shops, yards and commercial units across Blackpool and the Fylde Coast. Wired and wireless systems, single cameras or full multi-camera setups.
